ATREYU Talks About Making Of 'Congregation'

October 28, 2009

The U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine recently conducted an interview with guitarist Dan Jacobs and singer Alex Varkatzas of the California-based rock band ATREYU about the making of the group's new album, "Congregation Of The Damned". Watch the chat below.

ATREYU are on tour with HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD through November 21, playing their final show in Los Angeles.

"Congregation Of The Damned", produced by Bob Marlette (OZZY OSBOURNE),mixed by Rich Costey (THE MARS VOLTA, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE) with select tracks mixed by Noah Shain (ENDLESS HALLWAY, SONNY),is the follow-up to 2007's "Lead Sails Paper Anchor", which was fueled by the Top 5 Active Rock hit "Becoming The Bull" and the #2-charting Alternative Rock hit "Falling Down". Varkatzas told The Pulse of Radio what fans can expect from the album. "It's gonna be awesome," he said. "It's gonna be a little more eclectic, I think a lot heavier, and my vocals especially are gonna be a lot more aggressive on this record. I think we've learned a lesson over the course of our four full-lengths, and I think this is gonna be the perfect blend of all of them."

"Storm to Pass", the new video from ATREYU, can be viewed below. The clip was shot September 22-23 in the desert near Palm Springs, California and was directed by Sean Stiegemeier, who has worked with the band on clips for "Falling Down", "Doomsday", "The Crimson" and "Lip Gloss and Black".
